School trips and workshops

Ignite imaginations and step beyond the classroom with a visit to Bristol’s historic dockyards - home to the SS Great Britain Experience.

From the iconic iron‑hulled ship to hands‑on exhibits and atmospheric outdoor spaces, every corner of the site is designed to spark curiosity and support curriculum‑linked learning for all ages. Students can explore the famous steam ship, meet the people who once sailed on her, discover how Victorian engineering changed the world, and even venture beneath the ‘sea’ in the Dry Dock to see the iconic propeller up close.

With a dedicated museum celebrating Brunel’s life and a peaceful waterside setting, Bristol Dockyards invites learners to discover, question and explore far beyond the classroom

Our full education programme, including workshops and guided tours, runs Tuesday to Friday during term time for Key Stages 1–5.
