The new SS Great Britain museum

You can get involved - help us put the finishing touches on our new museum!

Inside the new SS Great Britain Experience Museum at Bristol Dockyards

While the doors to our brand new museum are now open, work continues to make this space the best it can be.

By supporting us in putting the finishing touches to the museum, you'll be part of a project that will inspire generations. We're still inviting visitors, local businesses, supporters worldwide and the people of Bristol to get involved. There are interactives to install, objects to secure and conservation still to happen.

The reimagined Dockyard Museum forms part of the expanded SS Great Britain Experience which will tell the personal stories of passengers who travelled aboard the SS Great Britain to New York, San Francisco, Australia, India and the Falkland Islands. These journeys shaped lives across the globe, and here in Bristol.

We need All Hands on Deck to bring the redesigned museum and new community hub to life. This project belongs to everyone, and we’re inviting our whole community to play a part.
