Home Education Day
Inside the new SS Great Britain Experience Museum at Bristol Dockyards
21 September 2026

Home Education Day

Meet real-life engineers, enjoy hands-on STEM activities, and discover Brunel's legacy at our special Home Education Day.

Bristol Dockyards is home to the remarkable legacy of Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, but engineering is far from history. Join us this autumn for a special Home Education Day where you can meet real-life engineers from Babcock and Bristol Dockyards, discover what they do, and take part in hands-on STEM activities. You'll also have the chance to learn more about Brunel and explore our newly opened museum dedicated to his most famous ship, the SS Great Britain.

What’s included:

  • Whole site access including the Brunel Institute, Being Brunel Museum, SS Great Britain & NEW museum and Historic Dockyards.
  • We invite you to book some of the extras below after you have purchased your admission tickets. We will also ask for information about your child(ren), such as their age or additional needs. If booking several activities, please make sure the times do not overlap – you will be able to see a recap of your booking before paying.
